Things have been so busy that I have been neglecting my blog and online shop. We got very short notice about a festival that is coming up, the opening is on the 19th and then again from the 24th to the 30th. Gee there is so much to be done and added to this my father wrote a book and we had the launch last night and I am pleased to say that it was a great success. We have many orders to get out as soon as the book gets here because as usual Murphy was busy and the books will arrive a day late.
Getting back to the festival, I am making polymer clay charms at the moment but have to finish them this weekend in order to make some jewellery for the market too. We are going to sell loose beads, charms and buttons and also made up jewellery, keyrings, bag charms, cellphone charms, earrings etc.
Anyhow I had better get back to work........

Power tools?
I was a bit unsure but I had heard all these wonderful stories about the shine that the buffer would give the polymer clay beads. I went out to buy one on Wednesday and nearly fainted when the salesman told me how much it was - eeep - could I really afford to spend that amount on this thing? What if I was dissapointed? What if I kick myself in the b**t because I have wasted money again?
Well I got the contraption home and only unpacked it on Thursday. It smelt like oil and tools - not the kind of aroma that I enjoy. I got a bead out and buffed it and the shine was 1000 times better than I ever expected - it is amazing. Now I am kicking myself in the b**t because I did not buy it a long time ago. LOL

It nearly drove me crazy - aarrrggg
Have you ever made a necklace or any item that looks so gorgeous in real life and yet when you try to photograph it for your web page it just does not come out right.
This necklace nearly drove me nuts.
I tried different colors - different light - on my skin (not my favorite way at all) - but nothing wanted to work so I listed it on Etsy with the ugly photos and naturally it got hardly any views. Eventually my dad read the instruction manual for the camera (now who would have thought of that ha ha ha ha) and he found the solution and we got a great photo. Posted that one on Etsy too and Yay - the views went up. Just goes to show - if you product is gorgeous and the photos are bad - no-one will even look at it.

Oops - its getting closer to the busy season
It happens every year - I promise myself that I am going to prepare for the holiday season by making sure that there are a lot of items in stock. Every year time flies and when everyone else is on holiday this house is crazy. Truly hoping that this year will be different LOL.
More of a variety of things will be available this - buttons, loose beads, charms and miniatures so that more people may find something they would like to have (spend their hard earned cash on.)
Well I am planning to do this - we will just have to wait and see how it turns out.......

Mimi 1989 to 9 August 2009
That was when I first met Mimi - a little girl that would climb into my heart. Those first few weeks were a bit trying because Mimi had to share a strange house with Meow meow - a very old black cat who was the boss of all, Whiskey - a sweet Siamese who ignored Mimi and Fluffy - a very small cat with a short tail and her and Mimi did not like each other at all - phew it was tough at times.
The 3 cats went to their home when it was ready and Mimi changed into the most adorable and friendly girl. She was independent yet loving at the same time. She had a new enemy to fight with - a very sweet little Siamese who belonged to a neighbor. We moved into a new house and Mimi became an indoor cat. She loved going for a drive in the car and would happily sit on the seat next to me - never trying to get on my lap - as if she knew that was not a good thing.
As she got older she became more and more attached to me. She did not like to be away from me for too long.
She got arthritis and then later on she started losing her sight too but all the while she was the same adorable and loving cat.
My heart is broken after losing her but I remember all the joy and laughter that she brought and all the unconditional love that she gave. I will always remember her with a smile and a heart filled with love. A friend from Myspace made the angel picture for Mimi - Thanks Catladyinflorida!!
Rest in peace my darling Mimi.
